Ward Group Investments acquires £30m Three Tuns student accommodation scheme
Ward Group Investments has strengthened its purpose-built student accommodation portfolio with the acquisition of Elvet Residences and the landmark Three Tuns development in Durham.
The £30m scheme comprises 178 studios and apartments across three residential wings, incorporating the historic Grade II-listed former Three Tuns coaching inn.
Following the acquisition, Ward Group Investments has taken full operational control and invested £500,000 into improvements across the property. This has included upgrades to amenities, fire safety, compliance and energy efficiency, alongside the installation of air-source heat pumps and a smart energy management system. The majority of rooms now achieve an EPC A rating.
The acquisition forms part of Ward Group’s wider strategy to invest in well-located student accommodation and actively manage its assets to improve both resident experience and long-term performance.
