Andrew Ward acquires Newcastles historic Union Rooms

Andrew Ward completed the acquisition of Newcastle’s Union Rooms, one of the city centre’s most recognisable leisure properties.

The Grade II-listed building dates back to 1877 and occupies a prominent position on Westgate Road, close to Newcastle Central Station. Formerly operated by JD Wetherspoon, the five-storey property was acquired as a long-term leisure investment.

The acquisition formed part of a growing leisure property portfolio and created opportunities for further investment in the building while protecting the character and heritage of a landmark Newcastle asset.
